Position Title:Software Manager - QA Automation

Employee Status: Direct Hire

Location: Omaha, NE

Purpose:

Our Client is seeking a Software QA Manager to lead Automation QA teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Automation QA Engineers, driving the development and execution of automated testing frameworks, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. This role requires a strong technical background in software testing, expertise in automation tools and methodologies, and excellent leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Automation QA Engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Develop and implement automation testing strategies, frameworks, and processes to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts for various applications and systems.

  • Collaborate with development teams, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure quality is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Define and track key QA metrics to measure and report on the quality of software releases.

  • Evaluate and recommend new automation tools and technologies to enhance testing capabilities.

  • Ensure the QA team adheres to established standards, procedures, and best practices.

  • Manage QA project timelines, resources, and deliverables.

  • Identify and analyze defects, track their resolution, and ensure timely closure.

  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team and the organization.

Work Requirements, Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in software development or quality assurance.

  • 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership role, leading QA teams.

  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, concepts, and best practices.

  • Proficiency in designing and implementing automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit).

  • Knowldge of programming languages and tools such as Selenium, C#, ASP.NET, and VB.NET

  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
