Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Strongsville, OH /Pittsburgh, PA;

Duration: Fulltime

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Data/UI/Automation tester with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong SQL/manual testing experience.
• Data and API testing.
• Automation testing exposure - Selenium, Cucumber, Kafka.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, etc.)
• Ability to work with SQL and databases for backend validation.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Agile/Scrum experience

Responsibilities:

• Exposure to test automation/automation testing.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to define API test strategies and test plans
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for REST and SOAP APIs
• Perform API testing for functionality, integration, regression, and data validation
• Validate request/response payloads, headers, status codes, error handling, and business rules.
• Develop and maintain API automation scripts and frameworks using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or similar.
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
• Perform backend testing using SQL/database queries to validate data integrity.
• Execute end-to-end testing involving API, service, and UI layers where applicable.
• Ensure adequate test coverage and adherence to quality standards and best practices.
• Prepare and present test execution reports, metrics, and quality status updates.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation approaches, and tools.
• Support performance, security, and scalability testing initiatives when required
