Description

In this exciting, dynamic role, you will assist with the introduction of new children’s toys by managing quality, reliability, and safety compliance activities for a wide range of products and brands. During the Product process, you will help ensure that the company’s products meet and/or exceed worldwide safety, chemical, and performance requirements, deliver optimal product reliability, and fulfill customer expectations for the product. You will also monitor product performance in the field and use this information to anticipate and prevent issues on future products.

Responsibilities:

  • Integral member of product development: lead all quality, safety and reliability activities and requirements to ensure product consistently meets all regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Develop qualification requirements for downstream stages of testing.
  • Coordinate internal and external testing as required and planned for the development stage. Maintain technical files for projects in accordance with various regional requirements. Analyze customer return and complaints, and issue and monitor corrective action requests to address root cause.
  • Ensure that packaging labelling specifications for new toys are met.
  • Travel and oversight as needed to local warehouse in Los Angeles.
  • Work closely with other functional groups such as Design, Marketing, Customer Service, Sales,
  • Stay abreast of changing global, region-specific regulations, standards, and retailer requirements to anticipate potential impacts to processes or products.
  • Compliance experience with agency standards for safety or other similar requirements
  • Superior team and project management skills
  • Problem solving abilities and FMEA /root cause analysis experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

Desired Experience:

  • BS degree
  • 4+ years relevant experience in Quality Engineering for product safety and reliability
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, one or more of the following specialties desirable: toys, plastics, clothing/fabrics
  • Toy industry specific experience is preferred
