Description

Konami Gaming is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer II (Firmware) to join our team!

This position will be located in our Las Vegas headquarters and is not a remote position.

The Quality Assurance Engineer II performs quality engineering functions for Konami Gaming’s System (SYNKROS) products. This position is responsible for testing and evaluating gaming related software products for submission to regulatory agencies and coordinating with R&D staff to eliminate system issues or anomalies.  This includes developing and executing test plans and procedures with attention to detail.  This position also requires the flexibility to act autonomously at all times while adhering to overall department and company policies and procedures.

Testing focus for this position will be for the firmware side of the SYNRKOS product and will require knowledge with:

  • Slot machine protocols (SAS, QCOM, XSeries, G2S)
    • Capture SAS traces using analyzer tools
    • Basic analysis skills and ability to reference manuals to understand/analyze captures
  • Setup, reconfigure a slot floor (slot machines, setup EGMs, setup SMIBs)
  • Working on EGMs
    • RAM Clear, configure, troubleshoot and communicate to Senior Engineer Team
  • Familiarity and comfort with Casino System software

Understanding casino operations will be greatly beneficial

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Testing of SYNKROS slot floor hardware (NAMB2, BoardCollector, SIL, TTW & TTW2 hardware)
  • Skilled in data query and analysis to uncover and identify software anomalies
  • Working knowledge of Database Management Systems, preferably Oracle or SQL.
  • Develop and execute test cases and test scripts to ensure compliance with design requirements and gaming regulations.
  • Directly supports QA Manager in the overall direction of bug trackers generated during the testing process.
  • Write clear concise bug reports.
  • Contribute to improving the quality process.
  • Perform a variety of tests including functional, regression, and load tests.
  • Setup test system configurations to meet testing requirements.
  • Excellent issue resolution skills
    • Continually testing, troubleshooting and communicating your work/testing with Senior Engineers and management (if needed)
  • Contributes to the compilation of Firmware System submission documents.
  • Work with development engineers on defect resolutions.
  • Continual self-learning on SYNKROS Products and Konami System products.

Qualifications

What we'll want you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applied science or related field, or higher degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+  years Software Quality Assurance/Gaming experience or combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate and above level understanding and usage of Microsoft Office products.  Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, local area networks, computers and peripherals. Understanding of Software Quality Assurance Methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle. Knowledge of bug tracking tools.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and efficiently (verbal and written) with all levels of the business.  Must be able to obtain and retain gaming licensure.

 

Work Environment:

  • Full time / 40 + Hours per week.  Must be flexible for overtime, including evenings, weekends and Holidays as required
  • Must be comfortable working in a cubicle with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at the computer terminal for extended periods.  Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse and telephone.  Position can be high stress and extremely fast paced.  Ability to handle directive, assess situations, enter into dialogue and complete tasks. Must be able to communicate verbally and write in English.
  • Position shall work primarily in an office environment. Position shall maintain a cubicle in close proximity of other cubicles and offices.
