The IT QA Tester performs Quality Assurance and Testing activities on Software Applications and Systems to confirm that they meet the business and technical requirements, and that functional and non-functional aspect of application are working as expected. IT QA Tester performs tests as per defined requirements, report issues and generate reports to present to stakeholder about the status of testing.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
Software Application and System Testing
- Verify and validate existing and new functionality in applications under test
- Create test cases to identify software problems, analyse defects and errors found during tests
- Document results of tests for the software development team, and retest fixed defects
- Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience
- Coordinate and communicate with developers, vendors, and other stakeholder in creating, updating, and understanding requirements
- Perform Functional, Integration, System, End-to-End and User Acceptance Testing
- Provide feedback to the development team to enhance efficiency and performance
- Coordinate with the stakeholders to enhance and improve programs and processes
Generating Test Status Report
- Create test status reports stating functionality tested, test results, outstanding defects, and other related details
- Present reports periodically, as required by the project/product teams, to product owners, QA team and other stakeholders
- Provide further explanation on reports, if required
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduate with 1+ Years OR Undergraduate with 3+ Years of hand-on experience in IT QA Testing
- Experience in Software testing of Desktop and Web based Applications
- Experience in various black and grey box testing techniques
- Experience in creating test plan, test cases, test status reports, and test completion reports
- Experience in test case design techniques
- Experience in writing SQL queries
- Experience in defect management tools i.e., Jira, Azure DevOps
- Able to Understand/Write JSON, XML scripts
- Demonstrate the ability to analyse relevant information and apply individual judgement
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Must have access to reliable transportation
