The SDET II role combines Software Development expertise with Quality Assurance to create and maintain automated testing frameworks, tools, and test suites. SDETs help ensure product reliability and performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and testing tools
- Write and execute automated tests across different layers (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Collaborate with developers to ensure testability of features and applications
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality
- Investigate and analyze test failures to identify root causes
- Document test strategies, test cases, and testing procedures
- Support continuous integration and deployment processes
Required Technical Competencies
- Test Automation - Intermediate
- JavaScript/Typescript - Intermediate
- API testing - Intermediate
- CI/CD Tools - Basic
- Version Control (Git) - Intermediate
- SQL/Database - Basic
- Performance Testing - Basic
Required Tools & Frameworks
- Jest or Vitest for unit testing
- Cypress or Playwright for E2E testing
- Postman or similar API testing tools
- Git for version control
- Experience with CI/CD platforms
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in software testing and test automation
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices
- Experience with agile development processes
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
