We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer, Mid-Level to support internal audit activities across AS9100- and ISO9001-certified facilities and programs. This role will play a critical part in driving quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging modern data tools and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Plan, conduct, and report internal audits in accordance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
Design and manage tracking systems using PowerBI, PowerApps, and SharePoint to monitor audit activities, findings, corrective actions, and risk metrics.
Lead the development and sustainment of digital dashboards and reporting solutions for cross-functional teams, including Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
Partner with site personnel to maintain audit readiness and drive improvements for ongoing certification compliance.
Serve as a subject matter expert on FAR/DFAR compliance, contract reviews, and applicable regulatory standards.
Support the implementation of inspection systems, CMM lab integration, and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
Oversee nonconformance documentation processes and ensure supplier quality traceability.
Contribute to quality alerts, communication protocols, and organization-wide performance initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets
Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
5+ years of demonstrated relevant experience.
AS9100 Internal Auditor Certification (required)
Proven experience in AS9100 system implementation and ISO-certified audit programs.
Broad understanding of manufacturing, supplier quality, materials management, and engineering processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects.
Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements and federal contract compliance.
ISO 17025 Internal Auditor Certification preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Deltek CostPoint.
Solid understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Background in SharePoint development and business intelligence reporting.
Experience with MES platforms such as Solumina or QT9.
Must be detail-oriented, goal-oriented and mission-focused.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.
Physical Description
Employees in these positions will work in an assembly, manufacturing, and production environment, as well as in equipment assembly areas using technical and electronic testing equipment, including specialized software. They will collaborate with various personnel in a manufacturing or testing setting, attend meetings, contribute to team efforts, deliver timely results, produce reports, and communicate information effectively. Telework may be included.
In specialized laboratory or testing environments, employees will use electronic testing equipment, complex systems, and computer software. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, protective footwear, and lab coats may be required. Employees may be responsible for lifting, moving, testing, and assembling equipment of various weights and utilizing a variety of electronic testing tools.
