Quality Assurance Engineer - Enterprise Products
Nevada City, California
Position Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Telestream's enterprise products team as a QA Engineer. The products tested by this group are used in many high-profile live events (e.g. sports, music, reality TV) and file-based media workflows for broadcast networks and cable companies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases to ensure high-quality software and hardware testing.
- Execute functional, negative, performance and end-to-end testing.
- Identify and report issues, and verify issues are resolved to satisfy customer expectations.
- Create and maintain automated tests to facility timely product releases with minimal regression issues.
- Investigate and analyze defects found in production, identify gaps in test coverage and improve test strategies accordingly.
- Setup and maintain server equipment for test environments.
Qualifications:
- Associate of Science degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology Systems, Computer Science, or similar.
- 2+ years' experience in a QA role with a technology organization.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for software, firmware and hardware issues.
- Knowledge of hardware components and computer assembly.
- Familiarity with digital media, video streaming, and/or subtitling.
- Experience with defect tracking systems such as Jira.
- Involvement with server imaging software.
Additional strengths:
- Expertise with computer networking.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash).
- Knowledge of broadcast infrastructure (e.g. SDI, ST2110).
- Familiarity with video processing tools (e.g. FFmeg, OBS).
- Use of video editing applications (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere).
